Today we saw our son participate in the traditional activity, Undokai. Also known as sports day, this is where elementary kids get together and participate in a range of sports activities. From running, dancing (sort of), and more, Undokai has been around for years. I first learned about this cultural event during my time in Kyoto and became enamored with the event. It’s a great way to get kids moving in a fun and cooperative way. Our son has been preparing for this event for several weeks and it was great to see him with his peers in unison. We were able to go back to Japan in a way. Olivia, your time will come next year!
