This week was Spring break in Sam Diego and — thanks for my wife’s impeccable planning — we went to Hollywood for a couple of days.
We spent one day at Universal Studios, the first time for our family together. It was awesome! The rides were not too intense or scary so our kids were able to get on most of the attractions. I was very impressed with one of the rides in particular — Transformers.
Immersion was in full effect and quite different from what I can remember at other amusement parks growing up. One truly feels a part of the experience thanks to 3D and the advancement of technology. Our kids I believe would say they enjoyed the Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem the most.
All the rides had varying wait times but nothing was too outrageous EXCEPT for the Mario Brothers go kart attraction. This was about an hour and a half but it felt longer because just when we thought we’re getting closer we had to wait more and more. I think this ride will go through some efficiency changes in the years to come.
All and all, a great event with the family and I’m sure we will be back in the future.
